Dash Radio, founded by Scott Keeney said it was a wild, wild west went it came to radio and on the streaming music side, Apple and Spotify were major players in the United States.
According to Scott Keeney, the company focuses on live shows and has lined up more than 400 shows across 75 stations with big names like Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube as its hosts.
Dash radio announced that it has 10 million monthly listeners and got a funding of $8.8 million in a seed round.
Dash radio has got investment from many companies which include Arab Angel, Muzik, G Ventures, Nimble Ventures, Lazerow Ventures, Slow Ventures, Lindzon Capital Partners, Orin Snyder, Jason Flom, and Ian Schaefer.
Kevin Tsujihara, the chairman and CEO of Warner Bros and Michael Zeisser, Alibaba’s former chairman of U.S. investments have invested into this startup who are also joining into the companies board with John Burbank, the founder of Passport Capital.
Kevin Tsujihara stated in the funding announcement that he is honored to join the board and is very excited to about the change the company is driving across the radio.
The company’s founder also indicated that it would eventually introduce a paid premium plan loaded with features which include on-demand show archives.
